NEWPORT Gwent Dragons lock Andrew Coombs’ injury nightmare continues after the Wales international revealed he needs another knee operation.

The 31-year-old has not played since landing awkwardly in the Dragons’ European Challenge Cup quarter-final victory against Cardiff Blues in April of 2015.

Coombs, who has won 10 caps, endured a series of operations on his left knee after his body first rejected an artificial ligament.

The lock/back row forward had been rehabbing at the Dragons’ Ystrad Mynach training base but revealed on Twitter that he needs to go back under the knife.

“After a gruelling 13 months with injury, having 6 operations, It's hard to take that I require the first op all over again #7 #devastated,” he wrote.
