ED Jackson has been passed fit to start for Newport Gwent Dragons in tomorrow’s Guinness Pro12 fixture at Edinburgh but Wales star Taulupe Faletau is still sidelined.

Number eight Jackson was a late withdrawal in the narrow loss to Castres in the European Challenge Cup last weekend because of a hip injury, forcing lock Rynard Landman to move back.

He has been named in the XV for the clash at Murrayfield but Faletau, who was also set to travel to Scotland for a late fitness test, is not in the 23 because of a knee injury suffered against Ulster at the start of the month.

Charlie Davies gets the nod at scrum-half ahead of Sarel Pretorius while Tom Prydie returns on the wing after an eight-week lay-off with a knee injury.

Captain Rhys Thomas will make his return from the bench after a successful comeback from a foot injury with the Dragons Premiership Select in the British and Irish Cup.

Edinburgh have lost their last three Pro12 fixtures but name a beefy pack featuring the on-song Scotland front row of Alastair Dickinson, Ross Ford and WP Nel while Sam Hidalgo-Clyne will once again hope to torment the Dragons after pulling the strings in the hosts’ 45-16 Challenge Cup semi-final romp last season.
