Gwent Police have launched an appeal after a 61 year-old man was left with life threatening injuries following the crash on the A465 in Abergavenny last week.

Officers are seeking information following the two vehicle crash at 7am on September 15.

A THIRTY-two-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving following a crash on the A465 in Abergavenny on Thursday.

Officers have interviewed a man, believed to be from the Cwmbran area, after he was arrested at the scene following the two vehicle crash at 7am on September 15.

The crash involved a white Vauxhall Vivaro van and a silver Peugeot 206, and a 61-year-old man from the Abergavenny area was taken to the University Hospital for Wales with life-threatening injuries.

Another man was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital with injuries that were believed not to be life-threatening, a Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said.

Officers are currently appealing for assistance in their investigations following the crash and are hoping that members of the public will be able to provide additional information.

The man has been released on bail.
